Amy Leventer is a professor of Earth and Environmental Geosciences at Colgate University, where she teaches courses in Oceanography, Environmental Science, and Paleoclimate. Her research aims to reconstruct the history of climate change in Antarctica, with the goal of understanding the range and rate of change in the past. She specializes in the use of the glass shells of microscopic algae, polar marine diatoms, to learn more about the temperature, productivity and extent of sea ice, in ancient oceans.
