A search for answers about ice sheet collapse

Source: Antarctic Science Platform

Evidence from the Earth’s past is needed to determine the future. The Antarctic Science Platform and international collaborators are embarking on an exciting scientific drilling project, aiming to address the following questions:

  • Under what climatic conditions does the West Antarctic Ice Sheet (WAIS) collapse?
  • What are the local, regional, and global environmental consequences of melting ice sheets?
